In those areas, waste water was discharged into nearby drains and was ultimately carried untreated into River Ganges. The blue print of the project was as follows:- Provide new sewer lines in areas not covered by it
- Replace the hydraulically insufficient/damaged sewer lines
- Provide treatment facilities for the waste water before its final discharge.
Muni Ki Reti already has a Sewage Pumping Station, built in1986. However, with the increase in population, the project proposes to build two more such plants in Muni Ki Reti and Dhalwla area. In addition, a Sewage Treatment Plant is also being built in 14 Bigha Area. It will also cover both Dhawala and Muni Ki Reti.

The electricity, generated by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL), is distributed by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) in muni Ki Reti.
